With Valentines Day just around the corner I thought this is a great chance to dedicate this little posts to all the guys out there struggling to find the right gift for their loved one or like some may refer to as their better half! So if you are finding it difficult to find a gift for someone who may already have everything or you simply have no clue what to buy here is my top 5 gift ideas for Valentines Day 2015! Enjoy and goodluck.
I know perfume is always a popular choice as a gift but instead of buying your loved one the normal celebrity fragrances how about trying some different perfumes that aren’t as well known and a little bit different from the rest. So first on my list is the wonderful scent from Mecca which has a notes of citrus and a refreshing scent making it great for summer! The above perfume is the more expensive of the range but they do stock some cheaper unique perfumes which you can check out at their site www.mecca.com.au
2. LEATHER GOODS
As everyone may know a lady can never have enough purses and handbags! One of my weaknesses is the endless new range available and hence second on my list of gift ideas is the Furla Envelope Set of purses. At around $200 you get three purses in three different sizes and colours that fit into one. So practical and the 3 colours will compliment a range of different outfits!
They say diamonds are a girl’s best friend and how true that is! So at number three is jewellery any jewellery is good for Valentines Day and if you can’t afford diamonds this is my next best suggestion! Anything from CZ by Kenneth Jay Lane is perfect for adding that touch of sparkle and elegance. The above earrings were worn my Duchess Kate during her New York visit! At just $175 the price is truly affordable to dress like a Princess!
Probably the hardest item to choose on my list but if you are wanting to get your loved one a nice item of clothing for Valentine’s Day then my suggestion is an Equipment shirt! The cut and fit on these shirts are amazing and is one of the reason many stars such as Miranda Kerr are a fan of the brand. Equipment shirts are timeless and will last the endless fashion trends making them an investment piece in anyone’s wardrobe!
Rounding out my top 5 gift ideas is the ever reliable lingerie to spark a little romance this Valentines Day. If you thinking Lingerie then you can’t really go past Calvin Klein. I have been a fan of their lingerie ever since I can remember Marky Mark on those billboards in his white Calvin Klein undies! Loved their commercials and advertisements ever since and the quality of their garments have never failed to disappoint over the years!
Christmas is almost here and truly I don’t know how it is when I still remember ringing the new year for 2014 and now here we are almost seeing out 2014! Time does fly and we all find ourselves in the midst of the festive season. I must admit though I love this time of year whether it’s the joy of seeing the kids count down the days til Santa makes that all important visit or the fact that there are endless parties and festivities to celebrate this time of year. Which is where the inspiration for this short little post comes from, the chance to dress up and celebrate with friends, families and colleagues can be both fun and hectic at the same time with everything else we all have on during the Christmas period. So I thought I would share with you some of my favourite outfits for the festive season whether you are sweating it out in 40 degrees weather in Australia or shivering your way through the festivities in the snowy background of Europe I hope this post will help those who don’t have time to flick through the endless magazines to find this seasons hottest trend. Imagine this post as a quick cheat guide to dressing fashionably yet comfortably through the Christmas and New Years celebrations.
If you are like me and enjoying Christmas in sunny warm weather than Jumpsuits are one of my favourite items this season and also one of 2014 hottest fashion piece. Jumpsuits are great for Christmas bbqs and lunch parties as they are not only comfortable but stylish as well. Plenty of room in these outfits too pig out on the yummy Christmas food without any worries! Jumpsuits are super versatile, you can dress them down with just flats or sandles and a cute fedora hat or up with heels and a fitted jacket, add a clutch and you have instant glam.
Maxi dresses are also a great piece for Summer Christmas festivities and taking inspiration from one of my favourite fashion bloggers Margaret Zhang who can make anything look amazing by simply pairing the right accessories to an outfit. I love what she has done with this fabulous Zimmerman maxi dress that is already great on its own but her special take on wearing this dress is simply superb. Check her blog out on www.shinebythree.com for other unique fashion takes on basic pieces. Just love her style! My love of maxi dresses stems from the fact that they are great at hiding my many body flaws which gives me confidence to take on the world without having to give up my love of food. The fact that they cover flaws and still makes you look stylish is simply win win!! Here are some of my favourite maxis:
For those lucky enough to enjoy a white Christmas a great coat is pretty much your main essential item that will keep you warm and looking stylish through the festive season. Choose a coat that will last many season so stick to a simple classic well tailored coat such as Burberry and you will enjoy many Christmas celebrations with it! Any outfit can be made to look expensive by accessorising a great coat over it. Black and cream are a go to colour for me as it goes with pretty much anything you wear underneath. But this season I am seeing some great colours for coats which I do love as it sets the mood for a fun and joyous season of celebration and joy for Christmas! Here are some of my favourite coats for 2014:
Finally to end I find that in 2014 it is all about prints and crop tops. So for this festive season how about having some fun with the great selections of prints and crops available, here are just a few!
Enjoy your celebrations until next time CHEERS xoxo
Winter fashion during pregnancy is all about the COAT!!! Invest in a well fitted coat and you can turn any simple outfit into an exquisite one! I must admit I spent most of my later months of pregnancy in my burberry wool trench coat! When it comes to stylish coats that are well fitted and classic that bucks all trends and lasts over time you really can’t go past Burberry. Having a decent coat really does save time especially on winter days when you can’t really be bothered, team a pair of jeans and teeshirt with a stylish coat and voila you are ready to do a photoshoot for Vogue or Harpers Bazaar!! Likewise put a stylish coat over a simple maternity dress and you have instant glam! Take inspiration from the Duchess of Cambridge who spent most of her pregnancy in a number of pretty and very stylish coats. Here are some examples of my favourite brands of coats!
The other essential must in any pregnant woman’s wardrobe is definitely a pair of comfy trusted jeans. Even before my pregnancy I practically lived in my jeans they were a staple of my wardrobe and hey why should that change when I got pregnant! So as soon as I couldn’t squeeze myself into my everyday jeans (trust me I hanged on for as long as possible) I knew it was time to invest in a decent pair of maternity jean! I wouldn’t go crazy and buy heaps just a couple to get you through your pregnancy is fine as you can’t really re-wear these after pregnancy. Luckily for me my favourite brand of jeans J Brand have a wonderful selection of maternity jeans as well that are just as comfy as the originals ones!! Trust me you wont be disappointed they have great durability as well!! The other brand I love and highly rate is the Paige jeans and like J Brand they also carry a number of maternity jeans and the fit of these jeans are just superb!
Lastly the only other items during winter you would need, to look like a yummy mummy-to-be is a cape or poncho that drapes over the belly without drawing attention to it!
Another example of working with your ever growing belly instead of against it! Not only will this keep you warm in winter it is also super comfy because it loosely drapes over your body! Wear it over leggings and you are ready for a no fuss stylish look.
The other item I loved to wear during my winter pregnancy was my trusty Burberry scarf. Scarves can transform your boring outfit into a stylish one! Add a bit of colour to a grey or black dress with a print or bright scarf and you will have even Anna Wintour smiling!!! Also scarves are great at drawing attention away from your ever growing belly, perfect for days when you are feeling a bit self conscious about your changing body shape!! Which for me was nearly every day because I felt short and stumpy with a growing belly so by throwing on a nice scarf over my belly for some reason made me feel more glamorous!
I end with just one message, enjoy and have fun dressing your belly through winter there are so many possibilities for you to try! Keep stylish until next time all my yummy mummies☺️
I found short stretchy dresses worked well on hot summer days when the thought of pulling on jeans or pants would be too exhausting especially as the belly was getting bigger!! Lucky for me Seraphine does wonderful comfy dresses that look good as well. Lets face it who wouldn’t want to look as good as Kate Middleton during her pregnancy, and thanks to Seraphine we can. Their dresses are great and they are totally affordable too!! The bonus is they are designed so that breast feeding is easily accessible, what more can you ask for! I have posted some of my favourite dresses from them. You can also browse other designs on their website www.seraphine.com They deliver internationally as well!!!
I also found long maxi dresses extremely comfortable for summer and they are great at hiding all the lumps and bumps during the later stages of pregnancy. Black maxi dresses are great at slimming one’s figure when you start to feel as big as a house, something I found I was feeling every second day as my due date drew closer. Fortunately with maxi dresses you can go two different ways, you can choose to buy maternity maxi dresses and ASOS does a range of affordable and very pretty maternity maxi dresses. Their website is www.asos.com and they ship to most countries worldwide
On the other hand you can purchase normal maxi dresses that flows over the belly. If this is your preferred option avoid tight fitting maxi dresses and go for a more loose fitting dress. The advantage of going with this option is that you can continue wearing these dresses post pregnancy. I love Modcloth dresses and their website is www.modcloth.com. They ship to Australia which is great. Here are some of my favourite styles from them
Finally, you can’t go past a loose fitting top and leggings for those lazy days when you really just can’t be bothered and trust me these days are a regular occurrence when you are in your home stretch of pregnancy. But who saids you can’t look trendy with leggings. The key is the top and once again I turn to Seraphine for inspiration as they do tops that are fashionable and breast feeding friendly. Here are a few:
Just because your pregnant doesn’t mean you can’t look good. Rather than taking a leaf out of Britney Spears pregnancy fashion nightmare instead draw some inspiration from the Duchess of Cambridge and Olivia Wilde. One rule of thumb when buying maternity clothes try to buy clothes that we can also wear post pregnancy, that way after you have your baby these clothes are not simply discarded. When looking for maternity clothes I tend to go for ones that will allow me to breast feed easily so that I can continue to get some use out of my maternity clothes long after the bump is gone. I was lucky enough to experience two totally different seasons for each of my pregnancy. My first born was during the summer months when I was the most heaviest. Summer is tough for a heavily pregnant woman and even tougher finding comfortable clothes that look good as well. But I managed to come across so wonderful brands that make clothes that will work for the long hot summer months!
